Bouygues Telecom customers had the unpleasant surprise of having subscribed to Netflix against their will. Several of them have indicated to the operator on a forum dedicated since March, says Frandroid  Friday.

"I received an email + sms that I subscribed to Netflix tonight when I did not order anything," wrote a customer for example.

Customers reimbursed by the operator

On the forum, the operator's advisers indicated that Bouygues Telecom had nothing to do with it, customers having been victims of an act of piracy. "The connection identifiers used by some of our customers on other sites have been usurped on the Internet, and used without their knowledge to subscribe to the Netflix option," the group told  Frandroid .

It is difficult to know how the hackers had access to the username and password. Bouygues Telecom has in any case announced that the amounts levied for the subscription to Netflix "are reimbursed to the customers concerned". The operator also ensures that it has launched a specific communication campaign aimed at its customers to support them in "protecting their personal data, securing their access".
