The police confirmed today (15th) that the accident occurred during a trial operation of a furnace plant that made silica, a cement-assisted raw material, in a metal processing company accident in Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, where two workers died.

At the time of the accident, the Haman Police Station secured the statement of the company's president that the furnace facilities flew all over the building with the explosion sound of 'popping' at the factory.

The scene revealed just how great the impact was at the time of the explosion.
The explosion caused the upper part of the 5t weight facility to bounce to the 3rd floor of the building, and the 4m high body part was moved inside the building about 20 meters away.

In addition, dozens of panels with a thickness of 50 mm, which are the exterior of the factory, were damaged and some of the ceilings were blown off from the first floor.

An official from the Korea Health and Safety Agency explained that the furnace facility has a very strong explosion pressure.

Inside the accident site, burnt glass fibers, protective glasses and masks that lost their owners were placed on the factory floor.

Police officers, fire departments and the Ministry of Employment and Labor met at the site, presuming that the explosion shocked workers.

The explosive facility was developed by the company and installed from a month ago, and was confirmed to have exploded within an hour during the first trial operation today.

The accident facility was confirmed to be a device that heats up to 1,200 degrees and melts waste glass fibers to make silica.

Police and fire departments are investigating the exact cause of the accident at 10:44 am today, when a metal processing company in Hamyeon-gun's legal water company was dissolving waste glass fibers with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
