Android TV could change its name. The device, installed on certain televisions or boxes would take the name of Google TV. The American giant has already made the decision, reports the site 9to5Google .
For Google, this name change probably results from a desire to gradually erase the name of Android from the tools that the operating system animates. In 2012, Android Market became Google Play, says Phonandroid . Six years later, Android Wear was renamed "Wear OS by Google" this time. In the same year, Android Pay, the mobile payment system, became Google Pay.
A return to basics
