On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, we publish a unique retrospective of the Berlin operation - footage from the archive of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. These rare photos that have never been put before a wide audience, we will present in color on our Facebook account.

Tanks walking along the streets of Berlin, Soviet soldiers on the roof of the Reichstag, a view of the ruined Berlin - all this can be seen in bright colors thanks to the work of the famous digital artist Marina Amaral. Using modern colorization methods, it helps the viewer to see what was previously available only in black and white photographs, in its former splendor.

Previously, the Victory Pages first presented to the Russian audience the project of Marina Auschwitz Faces, where the artist worked together with the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum to colorize photos of concentration camp inmates.

“Coloring black and white photographs allows us not only rationally, but also at a deeper, emotional level to understand how the Holocaust affected people,” Marina said while working on the project.
