Two dead bodies believed to be missing Korean teachers in Annapurna, Nepal, were found on January 25th, the 100th day of disappearance.

Diplomatic authorities, including the Korean Embassy in June, said on the 26th that "the local search captain, who was monitoring the accident site at 3 pm on the 25th of the local time, found two bodies near the accident site."

Nepalese police and locals are trying to figure out whether the body is likely to be two of the missing persons.

At the time of the discovery of the body, the fog was raining and the corpse rehabilitation was scheduled to begin on the morning of the 26th.

The body will be transported by military or civilian helicopter to the National Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, the capital, after the probation.

However, it is known that there is a possibility that the schedule may be postponed due to poor weather conditions such as rain in the vicinity of the current accident site.

Embassy of the State has requested the prompt removal of the body from the local Kaski Police Department in charge of the accident area.

In addition, the consular officer will be waiting in the teaching hospital to provide necessary consular assistance.

Earlier, four teachers from the Chungnam Office of Education went missing during an avalanche along with three Nepalese guides (including one from another group) while descending from the Himalaya Annapurna Deurali Hut (3,230m above sea level) on January 17th.

The body of a Nepali guide from another group was already discovered in late February, and the body of a Nepali accompanied by a Korean was discovered on the 22nd.

The South Korean rescue team and the Nepalese military police, which started shortly after the accident, conducted large-scale search operations, but suffered from weather deterioration.

The avalanche that led to the enormous amount of snow and ice at the scene of the accident was another obstacle to the search.

Eventually, the search was temporarily suspended on January 24th.

Afterwards, civilian rescue experts from Nepal and Nepalese personnel from the KT Information and Communication Technology (ICT) rescue team attempted to search, but did not succeed.

Then, as the snow began to melt in April, expectations for missing persons grew.

A full-scale search was still not resumed as a result of the national blockade, but villagers in the nearby villages were looking for missing people on a daily basis.

In the city of Pokhara, near the scene of the accident, there are currently three officials from the Chungnam Office of Education and one missing family.

According to the Chungnam Office of Education, the four missing persons are teachers of Aunt (56 · male), Choi (37 · female), Kim (52 · female), and Jeongmo (59 · male).
