The city of Seoul apologized for the sexual assault of a mayor's secretary's office.

In the online briefing on the 24th, Kim Tae-gyun, the head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, "There was something that couldn't be done in a serious situation with Corona 19."

"I think it's painful that this has happened when officials have to take the initiative," he added.

The perpetrators explained that on the 23rd, when the incident was known, the job was exempted and a waiting order was issued, and the police announced that the investigation had begun on the day.

"I am sorry that no quicker measures have been taken against the perpetrators," Kim said. "Based on the results of the police investigation and the thorough investigation of the city itself, we will apply the principle of zero tolerance and strictly deal with it."

“We will do our best to protect the victims,” he said. “First of all, Seoul City will clearly establish the discipline of employee work as a responsible agent of quarantine and take various measures to prevent this from happening again.”

Kim promised, "We will improve the effectiveness of sexual harassment and sexual violence prevention training by re-examining sexual harassment and sexual violence to ensure that all employees strengthen their sexual sensibility in daily life by applying 'one strike-out' to sexual profanity."

He said, "The city has put in a lot of effort to increase the gender sensibility of our employees, but it has saved us a long way to go in this case."

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a male employee in the mayor's secretary's office is being investigated by the Seocho Police Station in Seoul on charges of sexually assaulting an unconscious female employee by drunk about 11 pm on the 14th.

Male employees have been involved in the mayor of Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon for several years, worked in the mayor's secretary for about a year and a half, and have been reported to have worked with female employees.

Mayor Park canceled a radio interview about self-employed survivorship funding scheduled for the morning of the 24th after the news arrived the day before.
