The fire from the large warehouse in Gunpo, Gyeonggi-do yesterday morning was completely extinguished by 12:00 noon today due to the slow evolution of the strong wind.

The police estimated that the fire started from a cigarette butt abandoned by foreign worker A, who works for a warehouse resident.It was caught on CCTV when Mr. A smoked a cigarette butt in a separate dump right next to the warehouse, but the fire started where he left the butt 18 minutes later and moved to the warehouse.

This is the place where Mr. A is believed to have discarded cigarette butts.

The fireworks that started here spread through the wind on the first floor of the building in just a few minutes.

The 1st and 5th floors, which mainly store furniture, as well as the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors, where electronics, etc., were piled up, were damaged by fire, and the fire department estimated property damage amounted to 22 billion won.
