A foreign worker at the Gunpo Logistics Center, who suffered a big fire or suffered property damage of about 3 billion won, was arrested by the police for alleged misfires.

The Gunpo Police Station in Gyeonggi is arresting and investigating Mr. A, a Tunisia nationality, on charges of neutralization today (22th).

Mr. A is accused of burning a cigarette butt at the garbage collection point in the Korea Composites Logistics Gunport Terminal at about 10:10 am yesterday and set fire to building E next door.

The police analyzed the CCTV footage and confirmed that Mr. A smoked a cigarette at the segregation dump and threw a butt into a pile of garbage that was piled up with paper boxes and trees.

After about 18 minutes, a flame rose from the point where the butts were abandoned, and the fire moved to the first floor of Building E in the next building.

The police arrested Mr. A for any other factors that could cause a fire.

Mr. A is known to have worked for a parent company that moved into E-East 2 months ago.

Although there were no casualties due to the fire, 38,000 square meters of fire was burned annually, resulting in a property damage of approximately 3 billion won estimated by the fire department.

It is said that there were many items such as furniture and clothing from 8 tenants in the building.
Fire departments are fighting fires overnight, catching a big flame around 3:45 am today, 17 hours after the fire broke out, and clearing up the current balance.

When the fire broke out, 3 levels of response, the highest warning level, were issued, and 430 people and 150 equipment, including fire-fighting helicopters and pump cars, were fired.

However, yesterday, a strong wind blew into the Gunpo area, making it difficult to evolve.

As soon as the remaining fires are cleaned up, the fire department will conduct joint identification with the police to determine the exact fire situation.
