A couple of Parisians was fined and sent back this weekend from Brittany where they had come to pass confinement despite the travel and seasonal rental bans, we learned from the gendarmes. The man, in his fifties and the woman, around 35, were each fined 135 euros, as was the owner of the house rented in Plougasnou, in North Finistère. The couple also received a fine of the same amount for breach of confinement.

A denunciation from a verbalized man
"They first stayed in a rental in the Côtes d'Armor, but their car was damaged on the spot. They then decided to go to another rental," said gendarmes from the company de Morlaix. Tourist and seasonal rentals are prohibited in Finistère since a prefectoral decree dating from the beginning of April in order to fight against the spread of Covid-19.
The gendarmes were alerted by a local resident that they were in the process of verbalizing on a beach in Plougasnou for breach of confinement. The latter, perhaps frustrated with being punished, pointed out to them a house known to be a vacation rental, but which had the shutters open.

After a few checks, the gendarmes heard and verbalized on Saturday the tenants and the owner, a resident of the town. The gendarmes summoned the couple to return to Paris. Other investigations of the same type, for seasonal rentals prohibited, are underway in the country of Morlaix, according to the gendarmerie company of Morlaix.
