About 6:30 this morning, two express trains to Yongsan derailed at a distance of about 300 meters from Singil Station between Yeongdeungpo Station and Singil Station on Subway Line 1.

[Accident train passengers: I was surprised. You know the light? It's like lightning. It was very fried. I walked to Singil Station. Get off the railroad.]

Fortunately, there was no casualties due to the low-speed operation to stop, but about 100 passengers had to get off the train and walk to Singil Station to evacuate.

[Currently, the train is not running.]

Because of this accident, the express train service from Guro Subway Line 1 to Yongsan Station was suspended for 10 hours, and the regular trains were also delayed, causing citizens to commute to work.

[Yeo Ji Yeon / Bupyeong-gu, Incheon: I thought there were so many people that I would be killed. It took me about 45 minutes from Bupyeong Station. It took 20 to 30 minutes longer than I originally came.]

This is a track near Singil Station. Repair work of the derailed train is in full swing.

An emergency recovery team was put in, separating the two derailed trains, and putting them on a track to transport them to the Guro vehicle base.

Restoration work was completed around 4:30 pm, and the train operation before work was normalized.

About the cause of the accident, KORAIL said that the results of the investigation by the Airline Accident Investigation Committee can be known.
