Corona 19 Continues to commemorate an internal medicine doctor in Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, who died while protecting national health at the forefront.

Mayor Kwon Young-jin of the Daegu market today (5th) said on his SNS, "Here is the pain that the director, Young-gu Heo, who was being treated in Daegu for infection with Corona 19, unfortunately passed away."

Mayor Kwon prayed for Mr. Heo's reverence and expressed his appreciation and respect by saying, "Thanks to the sacrifice and dedication of the medical staff, Daegu was able to prevent the collapse of the medical system and find the same stability now."

In addition, “154 medical staff were infected in Daegu alone, and 92 were cured, but 62 were still fighting the disease,” he said.

The Gyeongbuk Provincial Medical Association and the Daegu Metropolitan Medical Association also expressed their condolences yesterday and said about the death of the deceased, "a disastrous heart as a fellow living in the same era."
However, he emphasized, "Doctors will never step back and fight in the virus war to prevent the death and sacrifice of Korea's first health care provider due to Corona19."

In the meantime, "Comrade, rest in a painless place," he politely expressed his condolences.

Heo Young-gu, a 60-year-old man who ran a private hospital in Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, contracted pneumonia after contacting a confirmed patient during outpatient treatment on February 26, and was confirmed by corona 19 on the 19th of last month.

He had been hospitalized at Kyungpook National University Hospital, but died last 3 days.
