Since January 2020, within the framework of the #Pobedy Victory on RT project, podcasts have been released in which guests of Ani Fedorova tell her their family stories related to the war, or, conversely, talk about work projects dedicated to this topic. These are mainly people in creative professions.

Among them is the legend of Russian journalism Vladimir Molchanov. Talking about his book investigating Nazi crimes, he recalls youthful love.

Fashion historian Megan Virtanen explains how wartime clothing reflected the psychological state of a nation, what fashion has always been and remains an important tool for maintaining the spirit.

Composer and musician Pyotr Nalich will talk about his great-grandfather, an opera singer, who during the war lost his ability to sing due to trauma and will perform songs of the war years.

The project's film, Auschwitz Lessons, is now nominated for 6 Shorty Award categories. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the largest Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau (Auschwitz) by Soviet troops, we decided to release a musical film in virtual reality. We went to the camp museum in Poland together with nine students of the Moscow school No. 548, giving children from 13 to 16 years old the opportunity to see everything with their own eyes. After the trip, we asked them to express their emotions through virtual animation under the creative guidance of one of the leading Russian VR artists Denis Semenov.

You can also find out about the preparatory work before shooting in one of the podcasts, in which Anya talks with schoolchildren about this experience.

There are a lot of tender memories, tears, laughter and music in the releases - and they are united by one simple idea: this should never happen again, and in order for this not to happen, you need to remember the past and know your history.

Podcasts are recorded by musician Maxim Makarychev (On-The-Go, Sirotkin) together with the producer of #Pobedy Victory and the host of the Russia Beyond channel, Anya Fedorova. Since 2005, the presenter of RT, Anya Fedorova, has been the face of the Prime Time Russia evening show for six years, which was based on interviews with a variety of people, and this experience was useful in recording interviews with such different guests, which can be heard in #Zvuk Victory.

Since 2007, Maxim Makarychev has been singing, playing the guitar and writing music for one of the most successful indie bands On-The-Go in Russia, and since 2019 has also joined the Sirotkin team as a guitarist, vocalist and co-producer.

Initially, podcasts were published exclusively on VKontakte, but by the end of April they will be fully available on all major platforms: Apple, Google, Spotify, Anchor and Yandex.Music. Issues already published on VK are gradually uploaded to the above platforms. There will be 17 issues in total.

The RT #Pobedy Victory Project tells the story of World War II through the prism of new media and digital art on five platforms with unique content for each. Follow the project #Pages of Victory on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and VKontakte.
