Pong game to make a comeback - Geeko

Atari has just announced to everyone's surprise the grand return of the legendary Pong game, released in 1972 in the arcade. An unexpected return, especially since this renaissance will take place in a new form, that of an RPG.

Pong Quest will immerse players in an epic adventure in which they will embody a young racket in search of adventure. The player will explore several dungeons inspired by ancient Atari titles, including Asteroids and Centipede.

The editor also promises real fights which will require a real strategy on the part of the players. Versus modes will also be on the program to the delight of older players.

Pong will be released on console and PC

"Pong as an RPG is something completely unexpected," confirmed Jean-Marcel Nicolai, director of the games branch at Atari, at IGN. "We are thrilled to bring Pong Quest to life to honor the cult game and bring the much loved gameplay to a new generation of players and RPG fans," he added.

Pong Quest is scheduled for next spring. It will be released on all home consoles (PS4, Xbox One, Switch) and PC.
