Among the corona19 confirmers who died yesterday in Daegu, men in their 40s were included.

The man was tested for fever and coughing symptoms and confirmed on the 7th of last month. He died yesterday when the condition quickly deteriorated, such as receiving an oxygen mask in three days and Ekmo, an artificial cardiopulmonary device, after another ten days.

The health authorities in Daegu explained that the man had no underlying disease.

It was judged to be death from acute respiratory failure rather than a cytokine storm in which the body's immune system was overreacting.

[Kim Shin-woo / Director of Infectious Disease Management Support Team, Daegu Metropolitan City: I think that there was a case of dying because the function of the lungs did not return and hypoxia was not overcome. Even if you are young and have no underlying disease, you cannot be relieved.]

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention classified the man as underlying disease, but did not reveal exactly what the disease was.

Some have pointed out that the government's range of underlying patients is too wide.

[Kwak Jin / Director of New Diseases Response Division, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: We are doing extensive research on the basis of underlying diseases. I think it may be different from the clinician's judgment.]

In the United States, a six-week-old newborn died of corona19.

The child was brought to the hospital unconsciously, and died. Corona19 was confirmed after death.

Infants and young adults often suffer from mild illness and pass even though they have corona 19, but experts point out that it is not a problem and should not be vigilant.
