Until today (29th), more than 5,000 patients were judged completely cured and released from containment. However, about 10 of them, so 0.2% were confirmed again.

This is the case for a couple in their 30s and a 17-month-old daughter in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do, where reporter Kim Hye-min covered this.

A couple in their thirties and a 17-month-old daughter who were discharged from the hospital on the 15th and 20th after receiving a cure was confirmed again yesterday.

This is not the first time a reaffirmation has been made.

Previously, in Daegu, Seoul, Yecheon, Gyeongbuk, and Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, the inspection result was 'negative', and it was confirmed that more than 10 cases of reconfirmation occurred in Korea.

In China, it is known that 3 to 10% of confirmed patients recur after discharge.

The possibility that the virus remaining in the patient's body is 'reactivated' or the person who has been cured is reinfected with the same virus is being discussed.

Health authorities put weight on reactivation.

[Eung-Kyung Jung / Director of Disease Management Headquarters: We will gather more information and continue reviewing with clinical experts and epidemiologists. Since it will be reviewed in a short period of time, it will be difficult to produce a result, so we will continue to conduct an in-depth investigation and review of the case.]

He said, "There are only a few cases of reconfirmation, so there is no significant impact."

The government is also considering ways to strengthen the standard of discharge for people with cured discharge.
