Google Messages will soon appear “in bubbles” on the screen - Geeko

Google's email service seems to be the victim of a major bug, according to the various testimonials published on the application forum. Some of these testimonies date back more than a year. The problem is therefore not new, yet no fix seems to have been delivered, and this, although the anomalies are numerous.

Indeed, the bug suffered by Google Messages does not only delete SMS. In some cases, received SMS messages are associated with the wrong contacts. It also happens that the application simply does not open any more or crashes repeatedly, causing the total disappearance of the SMS. Other users indicate having received messages with incomprehensible content, some speak of an update of the application, others of the phone. In all cases, the message retrieval function does not allow you to retrieve the SMS in the application.

Google still hasn't reacted

The problem is not specific to Google smartphones, the Pixels. The application is indeed available on several brands of smartphones. The testimonies evoke as many Motorola smartphones, as HTC and Huawei.

The fact that Google has still not made any corrections when the first complaints date from January 2019 could be linked to the fact that the bug manifests itself differently in users.

Several solutions have been mentioned to overcome the problem, in particular by resetting the device's factory settings, clearing the application cache, downloading a specific application, etc. For the moment, no fix seems to be planned. Contacted by Android Authority, the Mountain View company has not yet responded to the latter.
