It is now possible to install Android on your iPhone - Geeko

Android and iOS have always been opposed, each with its own ecosystem, its advantages and disadvantages. In the case of iOS, the inability to install applications outside the App Store has prompted some users to try to get around this limitation. From there were born the jailbreaks. But little hackers went further: they managed to install Android on an iPhone.

The developers of Project Sandcastle managed to install Android on an iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, as well as on a first edition iPhone. They had to jailbreak the phones beforehand. Although they have succeeded, the operation is not without problems. The software is still in beta, but the developers are working to make Android on iPhone as functional as it is easy to install.

Apple's reaction should not be long delayed

The project was born out of an observation, that iOS was far too closed. “The iPhone restricts users from operating inside a sandbox. But when you buy an iPhone, you own the iPhone hardware. Android for iPhone gives you the freedom to run a different operating system on this hardware, ”reads the Project Sandcastle website.

It remains to be seen whether Apple will not attempt to shut down the site. The Californian firm does not appreciate that attempts are made to modify its devices and operating systems. In fact, migrating iOS to Android would void your phone's current warranty. It is therefore better to try the experience on an old iPhone whose warranty has expired.
