This is the principle of the sprinkler sprinkled: a group of hackers managed to hack other hackers to steal from them data that they had themselves stolen. This practice was observed and explained this Monday by Cybereason Noctornus, a cybersecurity company.

The hackers, probably of Vietnamese origin, infested several hacking tools with a powerful Trojan horse. They then made these tools available to other hackers via forums, reports Numerama .

A "rather clever shortcut"

Using these tools, naive hackers can hack systems and steal data, but are also unknowingly exposed to possible hacking. Thanks to the Trojan horse, the group of hackers can easily access the devices of “victim” hackers and all the sites that they hacked themselves.

"It seems that a person, or a group of people, realizes a rather clever shortcut to access more systems", decrypts on ZDNet Amit Serper, vice-president of Cybereason. If the practice is not new, the use of this powerful Trojan horse, called njRat for these purposes is innovative.
