Flames and black smoke continually rise above the rooftops of the factory, and firefighters sprinkle stretching water.

Last night, at 11:20 pm, a fire broke out at the wastewater treatment facility of Samsung Electronics' semiconductor factory in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do.

The fire started in the rooftop cooling tower, but no one was injured.

The fire department has put in 48 fire trucks and 124 firefighters, setting fires in two and a half hours and investigating the cause of the fire.

Samsung Electronics said there is no fire or production disruption at the facilities other than the production line.

Ten residents were evacuated and there were no casualties.
