Scientists have discovered a new species of snail in Brunei that is difficult to respond to climate change, and named it Craspedotropis gretathunbergae in honor of the Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg. This is reported by the Biodiversity Data Journal.

It is noted that this species is very sensitive to droughts, temperature extremes and forest degeneration.

“By naming this snail after Greta Tunberg, we acknowledge that its generation will be responsible for solving problems that they did not create. It is also a promise that people of other generations will come to her aid, ”quoted EurekAlert Jonathan Lim, who was the first to discover a new species.

In 2019, a schoolgirl from Sweden Thurberg was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for her contribution to the global warming movement, and also became the person of the year according to Time magazine.

American leader Donald Trump called this decision ridiculous.

In 2018, Thunberg, instead of studying at school, began to come to the Swedish parliament and demand from the authorities to strengthen measures to combat climate change. Her initiative has evolved into the international Friday climate action movement, Fridays for Future.
