Seoul will ban the rally at Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul Plaza and Cheonggye Plaza for the time being to prevent the spread of Corona19.

In addition, the Shincheonji Jesus Church in Seoul will be closed from the 21st.

Mayor Park Won-soon made the same announcement by holding an emergency briefing in the Seoul City Briefing Room this morning.

Park said, "To protect the elderly who are vulnerable to infectious diseases, we will prohibit the use of Seoul Square, Cheonggye Square, and Gwanghwamun Square, which have a lot of citizens."

The city explained that Seoul's meetings were restricted to prevent infectious diseases under Article 49 (1) of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Management Act.

In case of violation, you will be fined up to 3 million won.

Park said, "Especially, some organizations still plan to hold a rally, so special measures are needed."

Park said, “We will close the Shincheonji Church in Seoul today because we believe that we need to take special measures in the Shinchonji Church service or meeting.

Mayor Park added, "We will allow church activities if safety is confirmed later and worship services become normal."

The City of Seoul has also temporarily closed 3,673 social welfare facilities, including the Noeik Welfare Center and the General Social Welfare Center.
