The court's first decision is that the controversial ride sharing service is not illegal. I decided it was a legitimate car rental, not a call taxi. Lee Jae-woong was also acquitted.

The current Passenger Vehicle Transportation Business Law stipulates that a separate license is required for passenger transportation business such as taxis.

It is forbidden to use your rental car to carry money, carry customers, or arrange for a driver to rent a car.

The Decree, however, has the exception that it is possible to arrange a driver when renting a 11 to 15-seater van.

The prosecution is exempt from the fact that 'tada' is more than 11 passengers, but it is actually illegal call taxi business.

On the other hand, the counter side argued that it was a car rental service with a legitimate article, but the court of first instance raised the hand of the other side and was acquitted.

It was judged that it was a very short-term van rental business, not an unauthorized passenger transportation business.

It was concluded that criminal punishment for being operated like a call taxi was a violation of the criminal justice system that overly extended the provisions of the law.

The court also said it should reflect the specificity of car-based mobility services.

The lack of administrative guidance on illegality was also evidence of the inability to criminalize punishment, as Mr. Jaewoong Lee and other officials frequently discussed with the Ministry of Land.

After the acquittal, the taxi drivers violently protested, both inside and outside the courtroom.
