A new vulnerability that has affected the Bluetooth connectivity system of Android devices allows cybercriminals to take full control of mobile phones remotely provided they have Bluetooth enabled.
In November 2019, researchers from the cybersecurity company ERNW discovered a vulnerability, called CVE-2020-0022. The company informed Google that this security flaw that affects devices carrying Android 8.0, 8.1 Oreo and Android 9.0 Pie systems.
One of the great dangers of this vulnerability is that the attacker does not need to interact with the mobile phone in order to infect it. You only need to obtain the MAC address - 48-digit number that identifies a device - from the Bluetooth of the Android mobile
In this way, cybercriminals can take full control and access the personal data of the device, charging code remotely as long as the device keeps the Bluetooth connected.
