While the patient is infected, we must wait for the exact epidemiologic findings, but the health authorities are watching that the patient has recently been to Thailand.

Apart from China, there is a study showing that Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is the most vulnerable city to the new coronavirus.

I have never been to China.

If an epidemiological study confirms that you have been infected in Thailand, you will be the second person to be diagnosed overseas, following 12 patients who were infected in Japan.

[Eung-Kyung Chung / Head of Disease Control Division: At the time of arrival at the airport, there is no risk of (infectious transmission) on airplanes or lines. Even if you haven't been to China (currently), you can get a test if you think it's necessary.]

Warnings have already been issued that Thailand is vulnerable to the new corona.

This is a paper published last week by Professor Bespignani from Northeastern University.

A global analysis of air routes, Chinese passenger inflows, and urban populations showed that Thailand, Bangkok, was the country with the highest risk of new corona infection among cities outside of China.

Next were Seoul and Taipei, Taiwan, where the risk was more than doubled.

Wuhan, where the new corona originated, is a heavy traffic area that is considered the center of transportation in China.

An average of 3,500 people go abroad daily, and the New York Times reported that 55,000 people left China from Wuhan to Thailand last October through November.

As infections in third countries have become a reality, countermeasures against non-China countries are urgent.
