The updated edition of the Motorola Razr with a folding screen is also available in the Netherlands "within a few months", a spokesperson on behalf of Lenovo told NU.nl on Thursday. Exactly when the smartphone is for sale and how expensive the device is going to be is still unclear.
This would make the Razr the second smartphone with a foldable screen that comes on the market in the Netherlands. For the time being, only Samsung offers such a phone in the Netherlands, the Galaxy Fold.
On the outside of the Razr is a screen of 2.7 inches. At the top, just like the traditional Razr, there is a hinge with which the smartphone can be opened. When unfolded, the oblong foldable screen with a diameter of 6.2 inches becomes visible on the inside.
The Android smartphone is also equipped with a camera (16 megapixels) and a selfie camera of 5 megapixels. The Razr has a storage capacity of 128 GB, a working memory of 6 GB and a battery of 2,510 mAh. There is also a fingerprint scanner in the device.
It was announced on Wednesday that the Razr will be available in the United States from 6 February. There, the device will cost $ 1,500 (approximately $ 1,350). Lenovo, the owner of the smartphone brand, announces in the coming months how expensive the Razr will become in the Netherlands.

Not yet available for use with all providers
The updated Razr will not be available for all providers for the time being. That is because a traditional SIM card cannot be inserted in the smartphone. The Razr is instead provided with a built-in sim card, a so-called e-sim.
Currently there are three providers in the Netherlands where customers can use an e-sim: Truphone, Ubigi and T-Mobile. Other providers have not yet announced that they will support the built-in SIM card. Without this support, the Motorola Razr is practically unusable.
