Fallon Sherrock has done himself a bad service on Friday the second day of the British Q-School in Wigan in the battle for a Tour card from the PDC. The English World Cup sensation immediately lost in the first round.

Sherrock was surprisingly unable to cope with her countryman Chris Lacey (2-5). She got no further than an average of just 78 points, thirteen points lower than her opponent (91).

Due to the rapid elimination, Sherrock also did not score points for the Q-School Order of Merit. At the British Q-School, in addition to the two finalists of each day, the top twelve of the Q-School Order of Merit will also receive a Tour card after the final day of Sunday.

Players receive a point for every win in a round in which no byes are involved. Sherrock is now on two points, while probably around ten points are required to be eligible for a Tour card.

Sherrock made history at the last World Cup of the PDC by being the first woman to win a match at the final tournament of that league. She beat Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic in succession and stranded against Chris Dobey.

European Q-School in Hildesheim

In addition to the British Q-School, the European Q-School is also held in Hildesheim from Thursday to Sunday. Only the winner of each day and the top seven of the Q-School Order of Merit will earn a Tour card after Sunday.

A record number of 853 darters have registered for Q-School. Almost all the BDO toppers are present and there are also a total of sixteen women present. A woman never managed to win a Tour card.

The English Gary Blades and Jason Lowe (both British Q-School) and the Austrian Harald Leitinger (European Q-School) are already assured of a Tour card after the opening day of Thursday and will therefore no longer take action.

With a Tour card, players can participate in the Players Championships, the qualifiers for the Euro Tours, Grand Slam of Darts and World Series of Darts Finals and the very last World Cup qualifying tournament.
