We were able to trace the trail of these images until October 2018. We found them at the time relayed by accounts which presented them as showing a rocket launcher manufactured by the United Arab Emirates. In October 2018, the UAE military conducted two weeks of exercise with the U.S. military, according to the WAM agency.

  • No, these photos of an eclipse do not date from January 8

Did the sun rise, shrouded in red, resembling "devil's horns", on the Persian Gulf this Wednesday? This is what many Twitter posts suggest, accompanied by photos of the phenomenon. It is presented as "a coincidence" after the Iranian attacks on military bases in Iraq and the crash of a Ukrainian plane in Iran in the space of a few hours.

These photos were taken on December 26, in Al Wakrah, Qatar, by Elias Chasiotis.
