As part of the study, experts studied the diet of more than 50 thousand postmenopausal women. Based on the results of scientific work, they came to the conclusion that products such as sugar, white bread and rice increase blood sugar, which is one of the causes of insomnia.

Scientists have explained that in an attempt to lower blood sugar, the body produces insulin, which can lead to the release of hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. It also provokes sleep disturbance.

Among the products that favorably affect sleep, researchers called fruits and vegetables.

Earlier, Vladimir Dolokhov, head of the sleep and wake neurobiology laboratory at the Institute of Higher Nervous Activity and Neurophysiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, assessed the possible danger of prolonged sleep in an interview with Nation News.
