Mercedes has unveiled the new GLA. The smallest crossover of the brand shares its basis with the A-Class. The new model also shows many similarities with the B-Class.

The new GLA is 1.5 centimeters shorter than its predecessor but also 10 centimeters higher. Mercedes offers the GLA with a 1.3-liter turbo engine with 163 hp. The gasoline engine is linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission with double clutch.

The provisional top model is the AMG GLA 35. This model has 306 hp and accelerates thanks to four-wheel drive in 5.1 seconds to 100 kilometers per hour.

In the end less powerful gasoline engines will follow and a diesel will also be available. The new GLA will be launched in the spring of 2020. Prices and specifications follow in the run-up to the market introduction.
