Veteran actor Quique San Francisco and the emerging comedian Miki d'Kai get into the shoes of a gastronomic critic and a chef in trouble in a comedy without cover

Pepe Viyuela: "The rise of the extreme right is an example of the absurd"

It is not easy to find Quique San Francisco (Madrid, 1955) if he believes it is time to take a break. Even if you are his agent. But the thing changes if you are Miki d'Kai (Cádiz, 1978), his companion on stage in Nightmare in comedy , a show in which the Madrid actor embodies a gastronomic critic who must try the innovative dishes of the Andalusian chef, With ironic result.

Question.- The figure of the critic is crucial in the work. How is your relationship with them?

Quique San Francisco.- I always got along with the critics ... badly. Bad with some and good with others, depending on the tastes we have.

Q.- Have you been inspired?

QSF- The truth is that not much in terms of inspiration. But they have taught me many things. For example, the sad thing about this country is that when a critic gives birth to a function, it goes from fucking mother. And if he puts it right, God doesn't even go. Is incredible. In the United States you make a bad review and the consequences are screwed. This country is a mess, and I am part.

Q. - And a reference chef?

Miki d'Kai.- I have watched the Chicote program because my wife and my daughters watch it. And a little it has inspired me. Also my father, who has been a cook for a lifetime. What greater inspiration than that! Also, I like it, I have a body to eat.

ESF- And cook great! That is what I have said. But the desserts are going to leave them. Those custard ...

P.- The promotion speaks of a humor «acid and thug». Are you not afraid that those words scare you in the times that are running?

ESF- You won't be threatening us, right? I ask, son. Because I already know that every time a monologue is done ... But we do something called humor. And if people don't have it ... If I must do what is called shit right now that of the "politically correct", I would already belong to that sad dictatorship of the majority. If we reach that point we could neither write nor do anything at all. I can tell you that with Franco, that I lived with the dictator, there was censorship. That was terrible But now much more is censored. Opinion is censored. And that is worrisome.

MDK- Quique has a very particular style, it has never been "quiet." He has said what he thinks. With humor, but what you think. It will not be cut now or never. And I more or less follow his path. I even think I am somewhat harder.

ESF- It's more dirty , huh?

MDK- I am more flamenco. [Laughs]

Q.- Do you feel more freedom on stage?

ESF- You answer, Miki, because I am reflecting.

MDK- Being both together gives us greater freedom when it comes to expressing ourselves and being able to say what we want. Enrique is a friend and it's easier that way. In addition, the public comes to see him. They know me later.

ESF- What's up! You calm down, that the step that we are going just figured. You have a lot of balls, I love you for that, but I don't think people get scared. What you have to give is "the little message." Although every time I go on stage, I get screwed, with some fear. Let's call it "respect for the public" until I interact with it. I'm not saying "this, bah!" I have not succeeded and I have been in this profession ... Well, if I am 64 years old, since 16. But that is good ...
