Other plans

The creator of 'Medias Puri' and 'Nañas Chung Lee' returns to talk to this immersive show full of surprises

Knock Knock. Manoli opens the door and acts as a master of ceremonies . Starts the game. Each spectator receives a letter and a mask and immediately begins to be part of a work without text. We are not facing a show to use ... In addition to developing in a clandestine space, there are no seats. It could be a convent, a hospital or even an asylum. Everyone is free to choose their path. And, above all, you have to keep in mind that there will not be a show like another one because when you leave nobody will have lived it in the same way .

«Manoli heels is very difficult to explain. People do not know what has happened after the final scene, about 20 minutes, where the groups are led to a large room. Some cry, others thank the cast for the experience, some get hooked on flamenco or go into catharsis ... The reactions are not predictable. That's why it generates so much curiosity and it's so beautiful, ”explains Felype De Lima, the entrepreneur who is going around Madrid's leisure with Puri Stockings, Chung Lee Nails and now with Manoli Heels. He clarifies that his last idea has nothing to do with fashion clubs in the capital . «The only common link is me, who designed all the shows. But the clubs are going to dance and have drinks, enjoying the show and the incredible decoration, while Tacones Manoli tells The House of Bernarda Alba through visual and choreographic language. The public perceives the anguish of a mourning mother who forces her daughters to be locked up, and lives the duel with them. The mental prison that is built through customs is transmitted ».

The show, during which you can eat and drink, is aimed at people "open minded who let themselves go and want to get excited with a different experience" , slips De Lima, who was inspired by a theatrical production that has been triumphing in Nueva York and Shanghai called Sleep No More . «They are precursors in immersive theater. I found it very interesting because the viewer remains a few feet away from the artists and gets inside the show, vibrating when their veins swell when they sing or tap.

A team of 30 people (choreographer, makeup artist, aldermen, illuminators and soundmen ...) participates in this gear where nothing can fail. «There are no dressing rooms, the actors change in front of you».
