“The candidate of biological sciences Laimonas Trilikauskas collected (during the expedition) about one and a half thousand copies of these arthropods for research in the laboratory. As a result, the Russian arachnologist managed to find 77 species of spiders, five of which were found for the first time within Russia, ”the National Park“ Land of the Leopard ”said.

It is reported that among species new to Russia, four species of small spiders living in the forest litter were found: Pardosa laevitarsis of the wolf spider family, as well as Phycosoma labialis, Zora lyriformis, Anguliphantes nasus. The fifth new species was the large funnel spider Allagelena opulenta, which lives in the grass in the meadows.

It is noted that these species of spiders do not have Russian names, therefore, only Latin is used when they are mentioned.

Earlier it was reported that Canadian and Chinese scientists described the oldest representative to date, the chelicerae, a subtype of arthropods, from which arachnids subsequently developed.
