INTERVIEW

Two people died Sunday in Tossiat, in the Ain, following a collusion between their car and an Intercity train connecting Belfort to Lyon. Invited to react on Europe 1, Roger Dillenseguer, rail consultant at UNSA, reaffirms the need to secure crossings to limit the risk of accidents. Three of the 620 passengers on the train were also slightly injured during the crash.

For now, an investigation must still determine the reasons for the accident. "This accident seems to be first and foremost a road accident and not a railway disaster", can however already affirm Roger Dillenseguer.

"Everything must be done to avoid these dangerous situations"

This crossing between the railway and the road is one of 155 crossings included in the national security program. "Once again this example reminds us that everything must be done to avoid these dangerous situations", impatient Roger Dillenseguer. "He is putting the issues of grade crossing security back on the ground and work has been done at the Ministry of Transport."
