In 1984, Terminator reached theaters and, in some way, got something changed in the way of telling stories with temporary jumps and invincible robots. Today, seven decades later, the sixth installment of the saga is released, which recovers the protagonists of the original film (and its sequel, released in 1991), Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger .

One and the other retake their roles as Sarah Connor and the terminator model T-800 , respectively, in Terminator: dark destiny , a film whose plot takes place in Mexico City. There, Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes) and her brother (Diego Boneta) lead a quiet life until Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna), a new generation android that aims to eliminate Dani, enters the scene. But, in addition to the aforementioned T-800 and Sarah Connor, this villain will have in front of Grace (Mackenzie Davis), a soldier from the future with an incredible force that is able to stand up to an indefatigable enemy.

The film, directed by Tim Miller ( Deadpool ) and has been shot in part in Madrid and Murcia, has had James Cameron, the director of the original film, as producer. A work that has allowed the person in charge of Avatar to affirm that Terminator: dark destiny or "is a direct sequel to Terminator II, when talking about a clash between artificial intelligence and humans. A more real issue now than in 1984 or 1991".

Politician, bodybuilder and protagonist of blockbusters such as Predator or Total Challenge , Arnold Schwarzenegger (Thal, Austria, 1947) owes much of his worldwide fame to the Terminator saga, to which he returns with a new and adrenaline delivery.

What did you think when you learned that James Cameron returned to the saga as a producer? It was a great luck to have James Cameron again, now as a producer. When retaking control of the franchise, I believe that his intention was always that Linda and I would return, creating a new and interesting story. And he has done it! And how have you prepared the paper this time? I am still the Terminator model T-800 that appeared in the previous films. For this I trained to the fullest. It is not very different to prepare for a bodybuilding competition, since you have to complete a work plan and follow a regime that must be fulfilled strictly! Then it is true that they make you suffer a little while filming; but it's something to expect in a tape like that. Just like it was in Terminator II , your character again faces an almost indestructible terminator ... In fact, in that tape the T-1000 model was faster and more powerful than my T -800. Now, the Rev-9 is even more sophisticated, which makes it very dangerous. My character does what he can to stop him.

Gabriel Luna plays the powerful Rev-9, a new generation android.

How has it been working with Gabriel Luna, the actor who plays the role here to the villain? Gabriel is a great guy who takes his job very seriously. He wanted to do his best in this shoot, which in turn has been good for me because that way I was able to make my character seem more vulnerable, something that is important to the story. What do you think about this new installment crossing borders of all kinds? I like that the film has such an international cast. I think things like that better reflect the world we live in. Of course, some other Austrian would be missing ... (laughs). What do you think of the increasing globalization that is being lived in Hollywood today? It is good that the films made in Hollywood are not only seen worldwide, but also be financed jointly with other countries. And that these, in turn, participate in its promotion, as has been the case in China here. Something like that has helped us make it bigger and better. The more we support each other, the more we will also help the film industry globally. Are you grateful that this story has strong female characters? Well, that has been a constant in Cameron's cinema for decades. We have seen it both in the first two deliveries of Terminator and in Alien: The Return , Titanic or Avatar . In their feature films, women are true heroines. And it seems like a good message. If you could go back in a time machine to 1984, when Terminator was made, what would you say to yourself? That I am lucky: I have been very lucky.
