Pork wholesale prices have continued to fall due to the African swine fever (ASF) crisis, adding to the concerns of farmers.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (26th) today, the wholesale price of pork was 2,716 won per kilogram, 116 won lower than 2,832 won on the 24th.

Kim Hyun-Soo, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Affairs, said at the government's King Sejong Government Complex this morning, "The African swine fever continues to occur in wild boar." I did.

Kim said, "Encourage gun catching to clearly set the area so that there are no safety accidents and guide the residents and hikers nearby."

He also emphasized that "Goyang, Yangju, Pocheon, Dongducheon, and Cheorwon five cities and counties will use all available equipment to disinfect them in a large scale."

As winter approaches, there are also comments about the increased risk of avian influenza (AI) in Korea.

Kim said, "The winter migratory birds that have flowed into our country have increased by about 34% compared to the same period last year." Poultry farms apply quicklime around the barn and sterilize the inside and outside of the barn daily.

"Each municipality needs to disinfect surrounding roads and poultry farms daily for 20 high-risk migratory birds with wide-area control and military admiral vehicles."
