The conclusion of the Seoul Central District Court came sooner than expected.

It was expected to come to an early conclusion early in the morning, but a warrant was issued for Professor Kyung Kyung-sim around 0:20, just past midnight.

Song Gyeong-ho, deputy judge of Seoul Central District Court, explained the reason for the warrant.

A significant portion of the 11 charges, including charges of entrance exam corruption, private equity funds, and evidence destruction, are listed.

In particular, the court cited the fear of destroying evidence among the two brief reasons for issuing a warrant.

The situation that Professor Chung tried to destroy the evidence, such as replacing the home PC hard disk with an asset manager immediately after the prosecution investigation, seems to have had a decisive effect on the warrant.

Although there was a prediction that Chung's health status, which was diagnosed with a brain tumor and cerebral infarction, could be a variable, it seems that his health was not enough to endure incarceration based on verification findings submitted by the prosecution.

The lawyers who denied allegations of misappropriation in the warrant screening did not comment on the warrant.

The prosecution plans to investigate Professor Chung in jail for up to 20 days before handing it to trial.
