The spouses lived separately
The man who denies being the perpetrator was always married to the victim but the spouses lived separately. The victim, a 35-year-old woman, was found Monday afternoon by help from neighbors in the common areas of the second floor of a 12-story residence in the popular Grand Park neighborhood. She wore stab wounds on her neck and had a knife stuck in her chest, the AFP reported.
In 2018, 121 women were killed by their husbands or ex-mates in France, according to the Ministry of the Interior. This figure has already been reached in 2019, according to the count of associations.
