The innovation of the day is a new anti-counterfeiting weapon: it is a pen that guarantees that a signature or a will is perfectly authentic. How it works ? It's pretty clever. Everything happens in ink. Visually, it looks like a classic fountain pen. Except that inside the cartridge, we added an invisible product, very easy to detect, but whose formula is unique. Each pen owner will have a different formula, so that by analyzing the ink, it will be easy to know who has written. It is therefore very convenient to authenticate a signature on a contract or a will. It's a bit like the modern version of the seal, wax seal. So better not to lose it or get it stolen.
It's already available? Who is using it ?
He just got out. But big bosses, lawyers and notaries are already using it. It is a French technology, Breton to be precise, since it is developed in Rennes by the company Olnica. They do not just make pens, they are specialized in the fight against counterfeiting. It is they, for example, who provide tickets marked with the Police. This allows them to be tracked as in movies. And it's expensive?
It is rather luxurious pen, so it is not cheap: the price varies between 900 and € 1,500 depending on the model. But it's in the ink cartridge that lies all the technology. The goal, eventually, will be to use it with any fountain pen. But it will remain expensive: we are talking about 200 € the two cartridges with unique formulation. The price to pay to avoid disputes over writings or signatures.
