An investigation was opened after the double murder of a 42-year-old nurse and her 84-year-old patient near Montargis in Loiret, the Orleans prosecutor said Tuesday. The investigation was entrusted to the research section of the gendarmerie.

Traces of blows with knives

The liberal nurse, mother of two children, was found dead in a roadside field in Pannes, hands tied by a telephone cable, said Nicolas Bessone during a press conference. According to the prosecutor, traces of stabbings, found in the chest and neck of the victim, are the cause of his death.

The prosecutor linked a second murder, that of an 84-year-old man who was a patient of the nurse who used to provide home care early in the morning. The body of the latter was found Monday at his home in Châlette-sur-Loing, about two kilometers from where the body of the nurse was found. A pet and a broken hair pin, belonging to the nurse, were also found at the home of the octogenarian, or "in the immediate vicinity". The disappearance of the pensioner was reported Monday morning by relatives, worried about not hearing from him.

The investigators found his body "at the foot of his bed, perpendicular, hidden" under blankets, according to the prosecutor. His hands, sliced ​​post mortem, were not found by the investigators. According to the prosecutor, it is the many blows to the octogenarian, including the head and face, which caused his death.

According to the scenario reconstructed by the Orleans police officers, the nurse was not killed at her patient's home. "She was killed in the field or in the vehicle," said the prosecutor. "All the hypotheses are open," says Nicolas Bessone about mobile. In particular, the house of the octogenarian was searched, with no evidence of theft.
