Kazakhstan President expresses condolences over Leonov’s death

“The Head of State, on behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and on his own behalf, expressed deep condolences on the death of the cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union Alexei Leonov,” the message said.

Tokaev noted that Leonov was a true professional in his field, a legendary figure in world cosmonautics.

He added that Leonov was able to do something that was not under the power of others, while risking his life for a great purpose.

Earlier, cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Dzhanibekov in an interview with the FAN called Leonov’s death a bereavement for the whole world.
