Franck Terrier, nicknamed "the scooter hero" for trying to stop the driver of the ram-truck that killed 86 people on July 14, 2016 in Nice, was rescued on Thursday by the Raid police when he had entrenched himself his home. Spotted in a state in the street by the municipal police, this 53-year-old man had taken refuge in his home, without anyone being able to open the dialogue or to open the door. "It was called the Raid that came at 13:35, got it open before it is transported to the hospital," said a police source, confirming information from Nice-Matin .

Mayor Christian Estrosi, who knows him personally, went on the spot while the prefect Bernard Gonzalez came to direct the relief operations. Franck Terrier, who feared for the life of his son nearby and seen many victims being crushed before his eyes, started in pursuit of the truck aboard his scooter, managing to hang on to the cabin and hit the driver to many times.
