“To award the Order of Courage to Haig Nicholas Tyler, an astronaut of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, a US citizen,” the document says.

As noted, the award was presented "for courage and high professionalism shown in the performance of official duties in conditions associated with an increased risk to life in the event of an emergency."

On October 11, 2018, Haig together with the Russian cosmonaut Alexei Ovchinin in the Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft launched to the station. They could not enter orbit due to the accident of the Soyuz-FG rocket in the third minute of the flight.

After a while, a new flight was organized. March 14, 2019 they went to the ISS with the American Christina Cook.

On October 3, the astronauts returned to Earth.
