This was reported by RIA Novosti in the press service of the Foundation for Advanced Research (FPI).

“The laboratory’s specialists will create a demonstrator of an ultra-short take-off and landing transport drone with a hybrid power plant (“ flying car ”),” the statement said.

It is expected that the new vehicle will be able to take off and land on a site measuring 50 meters with a height of obstacles at the border of up to 15 meters.

At the same time, the flight range of the device will be one thousand kilometers, and the maximum speed - over 300 km / h

“For the next four years, work is planned to determine the technical appearance of the aircraft, conduct model tests in wind tunnels, create a full-scale demonstrator of the machine, as well as conduct a complex of its ground and flight tests,” said project manager from the FPI Grigory Makeich.

In February, it was reported that Russia plans to launch the first aircraft with an electric motor in 2020.
