• Criticism: Rambo: Last Blood: bad of pure stupid

Rambo and Sylvester Stallone return to the big screen. And while everyone wonders if it really was necessary for the old mercenary to hit shots again, we can look back at that time of testosterone and excess that were the eighties where several titans of the action cinema created their legend.

At that time you could enjoy not only Rambo but also Schwarzenegger fighting a Predator , Bruce Willis finishing barefoot with terrorists in the Crystal Jungle or Jean Claude Van Damme kicking like crazy in Bloodsport .

Millennials know them for that tribute they gave themselves in the saga of Los Mercenarios where they laughed at them and in a way of making almost extinct cinema. Today we can enjoy both his most glorious films and his most ridiculous moments of us and they laugh.

1. Stop or my mother shoots

In the promotion of The Mercenaries III , Stallone spoke of his rivalry with Schwarzenegger and the trick played by the latter. The parallels of both races and their status as action movie icons made them competitive with each other, and one of the moments of that confrontation was when they decided to turn their careers and try in family comedy.

The first was Arnold, who moved to that genre in nursery Poli and also spread the rumor that he was going to star in Alto or my mother shoots , a police comedy with Estelle Getty , Sophia Petrillo of Las Chicas de Oro .

Upon hearing that rumor, Stallone went with everything to snatch that paper and keep the pulse between them. Unfortunately, it was a trap later recognized by the Austrian giant, and that is that the film was one of the great disasters of Stallone's career, a nonsense according to critics and won several Razzies awards including the worst actor.

Stallone would declare: "I have made some really bad movies, but this has been the worst. If you ever need someone to confess a murder, just sit down and watch it. He will confess everything in 15 minutes."

2. Junior

At some point someone thought that Arnold Schwarzenegger playing a pregnant man was a good idea. The problem is that several people agreed and shot Junior . They even tricked Emma Thompson somehow to appear on the tape.

For more inri they took it seriously and offered us a crazy comedy that doesn't even make us laugh. Beyond a shocking poster, what we have are scenes of a spooky baby with the face of an adult Schwarzenegger or a series of sexist topics about pregnancy, including a transvestite Arnold, which is just as credible as when they try to sell us as an expert scientist in genetics.

3. Batman & Robin

Arnold Schwarzenegger has done many bad things in the cinema and has left a good number of corpses. Only in Command the figure is quite high. But he also managed to kill Batman for quite some time with George Clooney , Joel Schumacher and everyone who participated in that scare that was Batman & Robin .

Focusing only on the role of the former governor of California, he plays Mr. Frio , a villain who tries to freeze the world, try to make us see that Schwarzenegger can look like a scientist and torture the audience with terrible puns about "breaking the ice" or "freeze the party". He is not the only one in the film, and it would be unfair to blame him for all his ills, but it was one of the most visible aspects of the film.

4. Monaco Forever

Only a two minute scene needed the karateka Jean Claude Van Damme to fascinate us in Monaco Forever . Unknown until the Internet made her viral despite the Belgian's attempts to bury her forever, the scene is the only thing remembered from this film where an American was traveling through the French countryside.

At one point he is picked up by the character of Van Damme, who plays homosexual karateka. In indignation over his proposals and fights, the American challenges him to a fight before fleeing after seeing the speed of his opponent's kicks in the foreground.

The scene is poorly shot and full of homophobia, and it has the great merit of getting Van Damme to erase it from the face of the earth over other bodies he has starred in.

5. Spy Kids 3-D

Stallone was not on a roll precisely in the new millennium. In 2003 he was part of the third installment of the Robert Rodriguez Spy Kids 3-D children's saga, being the Toymaker, the villain who enslaves children by trapping them in the new fashion video game. Come on, what Fortnite and the League of Legends have achieved.

But the worst thing about the plan is not the kidnapping of youth in a fantasy world that they can't leave - they may not want to either - since the spectators are forced to see him explaining his plan at various times at the same time in he who speaks with other versions of himself.

Thanks to this tape we see how the hippy Stallone, the scientific Stallone or the General Stallone of the army would be. Because a single bad performance of his was too little.

6. The Sixth Day

What can be better than Arnold Schwarzenegger ? In Hollywood they thought the answer was two Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was the 2000s and before entering politics he participated in an insipid action tape called The Sixth Day in which not even a clone of his could trace.

The plot focused on the genetic revolution in the time of the sheep Dolly and Arnold found a double his supplanting his identity and living with his family. Fights, persecutions and many shootings later we see how he comes by giving his other self a punch for "sleeping with his wife."

A substitute for Face to Face but with less grace, which gave the nomination to the Razzies for worst main actor and cast in addition to the worst couple he does with himself.

7. Rhinestone

Someone thought that Stallone could work in a musical. But he did not. Not even with the invaluable help of country star Dolly Parton could Rhinestone work.

The plot told that Dolly Parton could train anyone to make him a star. Unfortunately, to sing well you need an attractive voice that Stallone lacks, and no matter how much he was dressed as a cowboy , everything ended as it had to end.

Of course, it served to begin his idyll with the Razzies winning the first of his nine awards in addition to obtaining the worst actor of the century.

8. Street Fighter

Movies based on video games tend to disappoint. Street Fighter is one of the most popular cases and Jean Claude Van Damme was largely to blame for it. He played one of the most celebrated fighters in the Guile franchise.

He was a soldier who has to rescue hostages from a carituresco villain, and in negotiations he decides to send a sleeve cut. It is only a small sample of his role, in which it seems that no actor understands him because of his accent but without the charisma of Schwarzenegger.

Your most powerful scene? It is his speech to the troops to motivate them and convince them to fight one last fight. I wish I hadn't convinced them. It seems that the cocaine consumed by the Belgian influenced his crazy interpretation.

9. Red Sonja

After the success of Conan the Barbarian, he tried to imitate the formula with a disparate success that included a failed sequel. Not even Schwarzenegger was a guarantee of success and that he tried to repeat his success both in its sequel and in Red Sonja - in Spain it had the name of The Red Warrior -.

Red Sonja is another of the characters, along with Salomon Kane or Conan himself, who created Robert E. Howard , and made his adaptation with Brigitte Nielsen , wife at that time of Sylvester Stallone, and the Austrian actor as protagonists. The criticisms were devastating.

Maria Shriver , wife of Schwarzenegger told him after the first viewing: "If this does not end your career, nothing will." Later it would be the same actor who criticized the film by stating that it was the worst film he had ever done and that he threatened his children when they misbehaved by "seeing Red Sonja see them ten times in a row. Now they never dare to misbehave."

10. Master of Universe

Dolph Lundgren , the actor who played the fearsome Ivan Drago in Rocky IV , also had some career in action movies before being rescued by The Mercenaries . Another of his great roles was Master of the Universe , in which he was chosen to put himself in the shoes of the popular character He-Man , protagonist of several cartoon series.

In this movie, He-Man and his allies end up being transported to New Jersey where they find Courtney Cox and are involved in a teenage drama while fighting the evil Skeletor that did not interest the audience no matter how cult movie it is now.
