Industrial accidents are commonplace in China.

Nineteen people were killed in the burning of a consumer goods plant in eastern China, local authorities reported on Monday. The fire occurred on Sunday in Zhejiang Province, Ninghai County officials said on social media.

The disaster, which is being investigated, took place in a Ruiqi Shiyongpin factory. Eight people were rescued, three of whom were injured and hospitalized, the source said. The tragedy comes as the Communist regime prepares propaganda for the celebrations on Tuesday of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic. The authorities have called on the media to avoid insisting on bad news in the run-up to October 1st and to focus on "positive energy".

The Chinese media thus spoke very little of a road accident between a bus and a truck, which killed 36 people in the eastern part of the country on Saturday. Industrial accidents are commonplace in China. In March, an explosion at a chemical plant in east China's Jiangsu Province killed at least 78 people. Four months later, an explosion in a gas plant killed 15 people in the center of the country.
