Launch of the Proton rocket from Baikonur postponed

The launch of the Proton-M launch vehicle from the Baikonur cosmodrome with commercial satellites has been postponed, the Roscosmos press service told RIA Novosti.

“It was necessary to finalize and conduct additional tests of the control system for the upper stage,” the state corporation said.

The launch of the rocket with the European telecommunications satellite Eutelsat 5 West B and the American technological device Mission Extension Vehicle-1 was planned for September 30.

Earlier it was reported that Roscosmos plans to create a new Soyuz-6 middle-class missile based on the Soyuz-5 rocket planned for development. According to preliminary data, the start of flight tests is planned for 2025.
