Facebook, the owner of Instagram, has settled a lawsuit with a New Zealand company that sells likes on Instagram, Law360 reports.
This is the Social Media Series company, which was sued by Facebook in April. The company and its owners are said to have sold authentic authentic likes and followers since 2015.
At the time, Facebook demanded that Social Media Series pay an amount of $ 10 million (nearly $ 9.1 million) in "unjustly obtained profits" and compensation. It is not clear under what conditions the two companies have arranged.
The lawsuit against Social Media Series is part of a broader approach against fake followers, responses and clicks. Instagram said it would take harder action in November against this form of deception.
