The police warn on Wednesday for a phishing e-mail in which the name of the investigative organization is being misused in an attempt to retrieve data from victims. The police warns against sending such emails.

This is an e-mail in which the sender claims that the recipient appears in the address book of the Gmail account used by the sender, which misuses the name of TicketSwap.

The scammer claims that the recipient is entitled to part of a seized amount of 23,000 euros. To claim this, the potential victim should return a copy of his bank statement.

In reality the account sellicketswap@gmail.com is used to retrieve the bank details. This information can, possibly in combination with other data, be used for other forms of fraud.
