Academician Eneyev Dies
Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Timur Eneev died at the age of 94, RIA Novosti reports.
It is noted that he died on September 8.
It was Eneyev in the 1950s who proposed a way to use the ballistic descent of a spacecraft from orbit to Earth as a means of safely returning an astronaut from orbital flight.
The scientist’s calculations of changing the satellite’s orbit during flight in the upper atmosphere showed that overload and high temperature during descent from orbit do not threaten the safety of the astronaut. This discovery was taken into account when launching into space in 1961, Yuri Gagarin.
At the end of August, it became known about the death of academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Fedotov. He died at the age of 88.
He was director of the Institute of Volcanology, Far Eastern Scientific Center, Academy of Sciences of the USSR - Institute of Volcanology, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences for 33 years.
Earlier it was reported that Yuri Simonov, professor at Moscow State University, doctor of geographical sciences and creator of the school of geomorphology, died in his 97th year of life.
