“I ask you to generally pay attention to optimizing the cost of products manufactured by Roscosmos enterprises, and also to work out measures that in the future will reduce the cost of space systems and launches themselves, while ensuring absolute quality and, of course, absolute reliability,” said the Russian leader during a meeting on the development of infrastructure of the Vostochny spaceport.
According to the president, this is a top priority for the Russian space industry.
Putin also said that the facilities of the Vostochny cosmodrome should be loaded "in a more serious way."
He emphasized that the entire infrastructure being built at the spaceport should meet the latest standards and ensure the launch of promising Russian missile complexes.
The head of state also noted that in the context of growing competition in the space services market of Russia, it is necessary to “be one step ahead”.
